We thank all of the players who trialed on Sunday 14th October to be part of the North Shore Mariners 2019 NPL 1 Youth program. With a high caliber of players in attendance, the decision to select the very best players was made difficult my our coaching staff. For those who were not selected, we would encourage you to trial for the Northbridge Academy Program which is our pathway program to the North Shore Mariners. Teams train twice a week starting in February and play in the NSFA Super League Competition with qualified coaches. Coaches are mentored by our Football Development Manager Freddie Seccombe and work towards the same principles and coaching structure as the North Shore Mariners, with a focus on the develop of individuals in a team environment. Players in the Northbridge FC Academy have the opportunity to train with their NSM counterparts during the season, should they be excelling in the academy environment. One of three Academies of the Central Coast Mariners A-League club, North Shore Mariners is based in the lower north shore of Sydney and competes in the FNSW state competitions. After another competitive season, we have invested in a full-time Technical Director in Ryan Grogan who will bring his recent experience from the Canberra United Academy to our High Performance Program. 2019 will see some changes and improvement on what we do to help raise the standards of our coaching, communications and player development. 1st Grade Men’s Head Coach Joe Haywood will take on an increase role in the development of all the players by working with Ryan in his new role. Central Mariners Academy Director Mike Phelan will be working with Joe and Ryan to deliver a new program for our players and coaches.

North Shore Mariners (NSM) is pleased to announce Ryan Grogan as the new Technical Director and Women’s NPL Head Coach.
As a club on the rise, NSM has appointed a Technical Director also on an upward trajectory. Ryan is well-educated in sports and has started a master’s degree in High Performance Sport. He is nearing sign-off by the FFA to deliver FFA C & B Licence courses. Ryan has experience coaching at high levels including the Canberra NYL (National Youth League) team last summer and is currently the coach developer at the Canberra United Academy where he also coaches the NPL1 Women’s side.
Ryan will be overseeing the NSM program, players, coaches as well as our internal coach education program to improve our player and coach development with the aim to becoming the best development club in the region. He will work closely with our Assistant Technical Director Joe Haywood to deliver the player development model set out by the CCM Academy Director Mike Phelan.
Ryan will also coach the NPL Women’s 1st Grade side which has progressed year on year and will be looking to push on next season with young and exciting talent coming through. Ryan begins his role on the 23rd September but will be providing input to the upcoming trials for senior men’s and women’s trials.
Ryan will be presented to our club at the NSM Youth and Senior Presentation Night this Thursday 6th September and be in attendance for the Senior Trials.
We look forward to the next phase of our club’s development under Ryan’s guidance.

Applications for coaching positions at North Shore Mariners Football Club (NSM) and Northbridge Football Club (NBFC) for the 2019 season are now open.
NSM and NBFC are looking for committed, reliable and development-driven coaches to work towards the improvement of our players and teams for the upcoming season and beyond. At NSM and NBFC, we want the very best team of coaches who are striving to learn together and develop themselves further, under our new coaching structure for the benefit of our players and club. We have set very high standards and expectations of ourselves and coaches for next season to become known as the club which develops the best players AND coaches through our way to mentoring and development processes. Our coaches have a defined pathway to develop from coaching at community level up to state level.
EXPECTATIONS OF OUR COACHES

Before applying for any role, you must accept and adhere to the expectations set on our coaches and be fully engaged and be committed to being part of our program/s, if selected.
The NSM/NBFC selection committee will appoint only the ideal candidates for roles and allocate coaches where they would be suited. Appointed coaches will benefit from the mentoring of our technical directors of each program and will need to be open to new ideas to improve current coaching ability. Coaches will also need to fit into the culture we are building for our club and programs, as we fully believe that the coach is the main provider of the football experience to each player and parent. Quality coaches lead to quality footballers.

Nice to see Chloe Logarzo back at Northbridge Oval. She was joined by Team Mate Georgia Yeoman-Dale in a Girls Try Football Event. Chloe and Georgia took a new group of young girls through a series of fun drills before then taking on the bigger girls in a game.
And thanks to NS Mariners Club Captain Maddie Bart plus Jules, Daisy and Eliza from the Firsts for helping out as well.
